ALPHA Scholarship Program

Welcome to the Arizona Legacy Pride Hockey Association (ALPHA) Scholarship program!

Here we try and help players get into hockey by offering scholarships to help with the cost of registration.

Details

Applications for scholarships for the Fall / Winter season will be accepted from June 19th, 2026 to July 3rd, 2026 at 1159pm.

Once the application process is closed interviews for the scholarship will be scheduled and completed via Google Meets.

Requirements

Apply for a scholarship
Participate in a mandatory interview
Have no outstanding debts with the league
Have completed any prior obligations for other seasons (missing hours or events)
Be willing to volunteer for a total of 12 hours of volunteer service or three events (events must be longer than an hour)
Miss no more than FOUR GAMES during the season
Complete a short essay explaining what the scholarship would mean to you and what playing in an LGBTQIA+ hockey league means to you.

Scholarship Program

Here at the Arizona Legacy Pride Hockey Association (ALPHA) we strive to break the three barriers that normally keep people from trying the sports they have always wanted to play. Primary of which being the high cost for entry into some sports; hockey being one of them.

As with other seasons, we are offering scholarships to interested athletes who wish to play hockey and for returning players who just need a little bit of help paying for the season.

In order to be eligible for a scholarship with ALPHA you must:

1) Apply for a scholarship

2) While applying complete a short essay explaining what the scholarship would mean to you and what playing in an LGBTQIA+ hockey league means to you.

3) Participate in a mandatory interview

4) Have no outstanding debts with the league

5) Have completed any prior obligations for other seasons (missing hours or events)

6) Be willing to volunteer for a total of 12 hours of volunteer service or three events (events must be longer than an hour)

7) Miss no more than FOUR GAMES during the season

8) Keep to the highest standards that ALPHA embodies

Applications for scholarships are being accepted from June 19th, 2026 to July 3rd, 2026 at 1159pm.

Scholarships this season will be awarded in time for people to register under the early bird pricing. We will also have payment plans available in addition to scholarships.
